WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT GRADES OF HUMAN HAIR EXTENSIONS?
2019-09-23

Grades of Human Hair Extensions:

  • 3A Grade Hair – Lowest-quality, thin human hair that may also have split ends. May shed and tangle after long-term use.
  • 4A and 5A Grade Hair – 100% human hair with a low to medium quality. May still shed and tangle after a few months of use.
  • 6A Grade Hair – Remy hair (human hair with cuticles going to the same direction) with medium thickness.
  • 7A Grade Hair – Stronger and thicker type of Remy hair that can be dyed up to the lightest shade of blonde. This is the ideal quality for human hair extensions.
  • 8A and 9A Grade Hair – Non-processed 100% virgin hair with cuticles intact. Easy to maintain.
  • 10A Grade Hair – Stronger and thicker 100% unprocessed virgin hair. This is the best grade of human hair that will last long.

While it can be confusing, try to remember it like this. If your hair extensions have are Grade AAAA+, this means that your extensions are made out of 100% human hair, with 75% of this hair measuring 18" – a high-quality weave.

You can even find clip-in curly hair extensions. These are curled one of two ways – either chemically with a perm or by steaming.
